  • Guidelines on assessing vascular function and using diagnostic tools such as duplex ultrasonography and penile brachial index.

Techniques for Treating Erectile Dysfunction:

  • Application of low-intensity shockwaves (ESWT) for erectile dysfunction

  • Combination therapy approaches using Tadalafil and ESWT, including the potential benefits and psychological implications.

  • Practical steps for administering shockwave therapy, including anatomical considerations such as treating the penile shaft and perineal area.

  • Advanced treatment protocols, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (P-Shot) and shockwaves.

Diabetes and Erectile Dysfunction:

  • The impact of diabetes on erectile function, including the pathophysiology of veno-occlusive dysfunction and its relation to penile fibrosis.

  • Guidelines for managing erectile dysfunction in diabetic patients, with a focus on shockwave therapy as an effective treatment option.

Implications of Sleep Apnea on Sexual Health:

  • Understanding the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and erectile dysfunction, particularly the role of hypoxia and sympathetic nervous system activation.

  • Approaches to diagnosing and managing OSA to improve sexual health outcomes, including the use of CPAP devices and lifestyle modifications.

Understanding and Managing Peyronie's Disease:

  • In-depth knowledge of Peyronie's disease, including its pathophysiology, symptoms, and the psychological impact on patients.

  • Exploration of the use of shockwave therapy in treating Peyronie's disease, particularly in reducing penile pain and possibly softening non-calcified plaques.

  • A comprehensive approach to multimodal treatment strategies for Peyronie's disease, including the combination of shockwave therapy, Tadalafil, antioxidants, penile traction, and platelet-rich plasma.

Comprehensive Approach to Treating Peyronie's Disease

  • In-depth analysis of Peyronie's disease, with a focus on early intervention to prevent severe complications such as penile shortening and erectile dysfunction.

  • To manage Peyronie's disease effectively, a multimodal treatment strategy combining Tadalafil, shockwave therapy, penile traction, and platelet-rich plasma was applied.

  • Exploration of shockwave therapy's potential benefits and limitations in different stages of Peyronie's disease, particularly in the inflammatory versus stable phases.

Shockwave Therapy for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction:

  • Identification and treatment of overactive pelvic floor muscles using shockwave therapy.

  • Techniques for assessing pelvic floor muscle tone and identifying trigger points for targeted treatment.

Advanced Understanding of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction:

  • Identification and diagnosis of pelvic floor overactivity, recognizing typical symptoms such as testicular pain, perineal pain, and urinary urgency.

  • Differentiation between pelvic floor overactivity and other potential causes of symptoms like urinary urgency and post-micturition dribble.

  • Treatment approaches for pelvic floor dysfunction include the use of Tamsulosin for diagnostic purposes and shockwave therapy for muscle overactivity.

Contraindications and Safety Considerations in Shockwave Therapy:

  • Understanding the contraindications for shockwave therapy, including the risks associated with treating patients with cancer or coagulopathies.

  • Legal and ethical considerations in applying shockwave therapy, especially in high-risk patient groups.

Physics and Technical Aspects of Shockwaves:

  • Detailed understanding of shockwave physics, including differences between real shockwaves and radial pressure waves.

  • Overview of shockwave generation methods (electrohydraulic, electromagnetic, piezoelectric) and their applications in therapy.

Advanced Physics of Shockwave Devices:

  • Detailed examination of the differences in shockwave devices, including variations in energy flux density, focal size, and the effects of different transducer technologies.

  • Insights into optimizing shockwave therapy by understanding different devices' physical properties and configurations for better clinical outcomes.

Advanced Therapies Using Electromagnetic Fields:

  • Introduction to Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT) and its synergy with shockwave therapy.

  • Understanding the biological effects of dynamic oscillating electromagnetic fields and their role in tissue regeneration.

About Dr.Stefan Buntrock

I studied Medicine and Scandinavian languages simultaneously, eventually graduating from the University of Göttingen in Germany with a PhD in both fields. I began my secondary education at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. After relocating frequently and spending several years in Sweden, Norway, and Iceland for my residency and working as a consultant in urology, I returned to Germany, where I became the head of one of the country’s largest urologic rehabilitation units. During this period, I specialized in sexual medicine at the Charité in Berlin.

I am a Fellow of the European Board of Urology, a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine, and an EFS/ESSM Certified Psycho-Sexologist. Recognizing that sexual function is also influenced by lifestyle factors, over the years, I further specialized in sports medicine and nutritional medicine. Among the many activities I pursued besides my medical work, I would like to mention my role as a lecturer for the University of Southampton. I have been teaching Genito-Urinary Medicine to 4th year students at the Kassel School of Medicine since 2018. In 2020, I started UroChannel on YouTube. Currently, the channel has gathered over 200,000 subscribers, and my videos have been watched over 37 million times.

In 2017, I opened my own practice focusing on urology and sexual medicine. From the beginning, I have relied on shockwave therapy, initially using the Dornier Aries 2 and eventually transitioning to the Storz Duolith SD1. My ambition is to stay at the forefront of developments in sexual medicine. This is why I have incorporated Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy, Platelet-Rich Plasma, and Radiofrequency treatments into my therapeutic approaches.
